For dog owners · How an assessment works

Before we touch a clipper, we write the plan.

The assessment is where every special care groom starts. It tells us what your dog can handle, what we will avoid, and what the session will look like.

The four steps

What to expect.

01

Tell us about your dog

Age, condition, history, and what has made grooming hard until now.

02

Consultation

What we look at depends on the case — a senior dog, a dog in recovery and an anxious dog are not assessed the same way. The consultation is where we work out what this dog needs before anything is booked.

03

A written grooming plan

What will be done, what will not be attempted, and why — shared with you before we start.

04

The groom, at your dog's pace

The session runs to the plan, with breaks where they are needed. If anything changes, we stop and tell you.

Good to know

We stop before we push.

Every case is looked at on its own, so the plan is adjusted to the dog in front of us. The groom follows the plan, not the clock. If anything changes mid-session, we stop. When a dog needs a vet, the dog goes to the vet.

Every dog is treated with respect and care throughout the process — assessed, planned for, and never rushed.
